WHAT IS A SCIENCE FAIR SPONSOR?

A sponsor provides funding to help cover the operating costs of the OCRSEF or provides Special Awards for student recognition.  This money will help pay for expenses that are not funded by Orange County Public Schools, such as cash awards, trips awards to the State and International Science and Engineering Fairs, and place awards (engraved plaques).  Anyone can be a sponsor for the OCRSEF.  Individuals, groups, businesses, organizations, associations, universities/colleges, and government agencies may sponsor this worthwhile program.  We implore you to become involved in encouraging our youth to continue to be responsible for their future!

General Sponsorship
The OCRSEF is happy to accept any monetary contribution to help support our activities during the year.  We have several teacher meetings, parent meetings, and must provide hospitality for the many volunteers during our 3 day event.  Special recognition is given to those organizations or individuals in the amounts shown at the left.  The sponsoring organizations are listed in the OCRSEF Program Book, the Awards Ceremony Program and at the Central Florida Fair.  It is estimated that over 2,500 participants, teachers, administrators, parents and others will view the OCRSEF.

Category Sponsorship
Donations may be designated for use in a specific category.  There are 14 categories each for the Senior and Junior Sections.  This money will provide engraved plaques for First, Second, Third, and Fourth Place winners.  Engraved plaques for a single category cost $200.  The increasingly interdisciplinary nature of science and engineering means that many projects will draw upon more than one field.  When selecting the category for your sponsorship, you may choose one that represents your primary field of interest.  You may also allow us to choose a category that has not been selected for sponsorship.
