Study Tips - How To Be A Successful Student

  1. Always come to class on time and prepared with your materials!

  2. If you are given time in class to start or complete an assignment use it wisely!

  3. Read your textbook and answer the questions at the end of each section and chapter!

  4. Keep an organized notebook with all of your papers!

  5. Obtain the proper supplies at the beginning of the school year (note cards, paper, pencils, pens,
eraser, colored pencils, graph paper, pencil pouch, 6 inch ruler, 3 ring binder, and pencil sharpener)!

  6. Do not talk out of turn and always be respectful of others especially your teacher!

  7. Read, Read, Read - At least 15 minutes every night!  Students should be reviewing the material
presented in class and reading in the assigned chapter each night.

  8. Always bring your book to class, occasionally there will be periodic book checks towards your class grade.

  9. Always make up missed work including days that are excused absences.

  10. Always participate positively in class discussions, labs and ask questions.

There is a homework assignment every day.  Each day in class a new topic or lab is covered.  The largest single
downfall for students doing poorly in class is their lack of effort, too much socialization during class, not paying
attention during class, not completing assignments given in class including labs and failure to study for upcoming tests.
High school classes require maturity, respect and responsibility.  Students who do not take this seriously or do not
complete assignments tend to do very poorly and fail.
