You can log online to www.sciserv.org/isefand click on the left menu bar where it says "Forms& Publications". Continue on the next page to "Forms(2001-2002) are now available". Select the form that you need andjust type your information on the form. You can then print the forms andturn them in by the set deadline. Projects involving risk, like (bacteria, lasers, hazardous chemicals, animals and humans) all must have prior approvalbefore any experimentation can begin.
OCRSEF is affiliated with the Florida State Science and Engineering Fairas well as the International Science and Engineering Fair. In order forour winners to go on and compete at these levels we must have all the properdocumentation for each experiment, especially those that involve risk. Allprojects must be performed in a manner that ensures the safety of the researcheras well as their subjects.
The OCRSEF is a committee of volunteers who generously give their time to reviewall projects, set up and maintain the fair, and seek sponsors for the teachersand students to go on to the next level of competition. Click here to meetour committee members.
Prizes vary every year, however our sponsors are very generous. Wealso support our winners to the next levels of competition at the state andinternational fairs.
The OCRSEF is usually held in February, however the review processfor paperwork begins in September with registration for yourschool. In October, students finalize their experimental design, complete the research plan (1A-problem, purpose, hypothesis, procedure; bibliography) and acquire the proper signatures on the checklist, forms 1B &any other protocol papers if they are necessary. All projects requiring protocol papers (human subjects, vertebrates, microbiology, bacteria, fungus, lasers, archeology, chemicals, etc) are to be completed in Novemberand prepare for submission to the committee for prior approval.
